You Have To Try This Easy Dog Birthday Cake Recipe!

My dog Bruce turned 6 on July 24th, so of course we had to make him a birthday cake that he could share with his friends. 🎂 Now it’s my turn to share this delicious recipe with all of you!

Bruce’s Cheesecake

Ingredients

  • Coconut oil
  • 500g Yoghurt
  • Gelatin sheets (depends on the volume of your yoghurt)
  • Carrot or pumpkin measure by heart
  • Mozzarella measure by heart
  • 1 box Edgard Cooper biscuits*

Method

  • Grab your Edgard & Cooper biscuits and mash them into a crumble. l used a pestle and mortar to get it to the correct size.
  • Put them in a large bowl and mix them with coconut oil. Ensure the coconut oil is liquid so it is easier to mix with the biscuits. You can make it liquid by warming it up.
  • After you’ve mixed the coconut oil, press the mixed biscuits into your baking tin.
  • Once this is done, put the tin in the fridge to harden the coconut oil.
  • While this is chilling in the fridge, you can prepare your gelatin if you have gelatine leaves. If you have powdered gelatin, you can wait with this. Meanwhile, you can prepare your carrots by removing the skin and shredding them. Bruce likes his carrots raw (as do the other dogs). You can put these aside for now.
  • Grab the yoghurt and put it on low fire in a pot. The yoghurt will become more liquid than when you first put it in the pot, so the gelatine will dissolve better.
  • Once the yoghurt is liquid and hot (not boiling), add the gelatine and whisk until dissolved.
  • When the gelatine is fully incorporated into the yoghurt, get it of the stove.
  • Pour the mixture into a large bowl.
  • Grab your carrots and mozzarella and mix them into the yoghurt. You can also add blueberries or strawberries to give it more colour. I skipped this because some of our dogs do not like the taste of blueberries.
  • Once mixed, you can take your chilled biscuit base out of the refrigerator. Pour the yoghurt mixture over the base and let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two until the gelatine hardens.

If you’re unsure whether the centre is solid enough, poke a toothpick into the middle and check if it comes out dry.

If this is the case, your cake is ready! 🎉

Decorate it with the leftovers of the biscuits, and it’s time to party! 🥳
